Finding Money Making Sites
I have to tell you that this is easier than you
might think. I have a four step process I use to target the
products and services I promote. Also, please note - this is
how I choose affiliate programs to pursue.
Step One - Sign up for a Commission Junction
account. Log in and go to the "Get Links" tab. Perform a
search on all advertisers. Now, click the column heading "7 Day
EPC". Now scroll down until you start seeing some numbers in this
column. This number tells you how much this affiliate program
paid out per 100 visits to their website in the last seven days.
As I'm writing this, the top payer is paying out nearly $400 per 100
visitors to their site.
Step Two - You can now enroll in this program, or
you can do a bit more research. Continuing on with the
research... Note that each advertiser has an industry associated with
it. The top two payers right now are in the "Loans" industry.
Take note of the top paying industries you find. Currently, the top five are:
- Loans
- Credit Cards
- Personal Insurance
- Jewelry
- Cosmetics
Step Three - Now see which sites are making
money in these industries. Let's take credit cards for example.
Do a Google search for "credit card". I see that there are over
28 million results for this search. Wow! Now, check out
the advertisers on the right side of your results. These folks
are paying big bucks for these positions on the first results page.
Now go page-to-page until you see an advertisement with the words
"affiliate" of "aff" in the ad. This indicates that this ad is
being run by an affiliate of the program.
Step Four - Visit the site and consider
signing up for the affiliate program. A lot of the time the
affiliate that signs you up will get a portion of your earnings, so
clicking on their ad could end up making them a lot of money in the
long term!
